The Pflugerville Veteran Spouse of the Year Program recognizes an outstanding spouse of a U.S. military veteran who has made significant contributions to the veteran community and the Pflugerville community. The award honors those who embody service, leadership, advocacy, and unwavering support to both their veteran and the community at large.
Submission Deadline: September 15th
The nominee must be the spouse (current or surviving) of a U.S. military veteran (living or deceased).
The spouse is a resident of the Pflugerville community and is/or have made significant contributions to the Pflugerville veteran community.
The spouse should demonstrate exceptional community service, advocacy for veterans, and/or leadership in organizations supporting veterans and families.
Open to spouses of veterans from all military eras (WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, OEF/OIF, etc.).
A committee of 5 to 7 members will oversee the nomination and selection process.
Selection committee members include:
A representative(s) from the City of Pflugerville (Mayor’s Office or City Council)
A representative(s) from a local Disabled American Veterans (DAV) chapter
A representative(s) from a local American Legion Post
A representative(s) from the Pflugerville Veteran Advisory Task Force
Review of all nominations based on service impact, leadership, and contributions.
Select three finalists and conduct interviews (if needed).
Announce the winner on Veterans Day (November 11th).
